Orchestra Experience Video 5.55

The symphony orchestra is one of the most powerful and illuminating metaphors for what happens in a large organisation.  For this unique experience, participants are seated inside a live orchestra. Conductor Dominic Alldis begins by conducting an inspiring piece of symphonic music, giving participants a rare opportunity to see and hear music being made from within the orchestra, observe the role of the conductor and orchestral players, and experience the power of non-verbal communication.  Using a series of carefully crafted exercises, participants are invited to engage in an interactive discussion with the musicians about how playing in an orchestra mirrors working in a large organisation. Themes explored include the importance of listening, collaboration, trust, preparation and technical excellence. Participants learn how the conductor or "maestro" provides inspirational leadership and a framework in which others can excel.
